Sustaining the vibrant liturgical life and spiritual home for Boston’s historic South End is not possible without the generosity of you — our parish and community members. So too, our pastoral ministries and apostolic works are also only possible through your giving.

Your gift online directly makes all we do possible. Setting up a recurring gift through our WeShare site helps us even more by allowing the parish to plan ahead for our expenses and works. WeShare also helps you to skip the hassle of weekly envelopes and check writing — simply set up your account once and your chosen giving amount will automatically be sent in each month or week.

Catholic Appeal 2021

The Archdiocese of Boston has launched this year’s Catholic Appeal. Each of us is called to care for the wellbeing of our parish and also for the wellbeing of the wider Church. The Catholic Appeal funds the 51 Central Ministries of the archdiocese.

Our Cathedral parish’s goal is set at $60,455. If you haven’t participated yet this year, we invite you to prayerfully consider making a gift or a pledge of your future gift online by visiting Thank you.

Light a Votive Candle at the Cathedral

The ancient and venerable practice of lighting votive candles in prayer dates as far back as our ancestral Jewish heritage and the earliest Christian church. In our Catholic tradition, lighting a votive candle is a visual and outward symbol of our prayer in faith coming into the light of God.

Unite your prayers and intentions with this strong symbol by requesting that a real candle be lit at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on your behalf. With your request, a member of the Cathedral staff will light a votive candle in a chapel on your behalf and for your intentions.

“I am the light of the world. No follower of Mine shall ever walk in darkness; no, he shall possess the light of life.” (Jn 8:12)

A contribution of $5 is suggested. You can make your request online here.
